As a PAWS Therapy Team volunteer, you are representing not only your own dog, but our entire therapy dog community. Members are responsible for ensuring: Membership is current Vaccinations are current ID badge is worn Dog remains on a short leash Dog is clean, healthy, and well groomed All PAWS Therapy Team Guidelines are followed These simple responsibilities help each visit feel safe, organized, and welcoming.

PAWS Therapy Team asks each therapy dog team to volunteer at least one visit/event per month. Some teams visit more often, while others volunteer on a lighter schedule. We know every family’s routine is different. What matters most is that therapy work remains a positive experience for both you and your dog. We also ask handlers to watch carefully for signs of fatigue, stress, or boredom. Our dogs give so much of themselves, and their well-being always comes first.

PAWS Therapy Team teams visit in many different settings, including: Hospitals Nursing homes Assisted living communities Senior centers Schools Libraries Colleges and universities Corporate wellness events As therapy work continues to grow, so do the opportunities to make a difference.

Yes. PAWS Therapy Team provides liability and accident insurance coverage for members participating in approved sponsored visits, provided all guidelines are followed.
